We were originally planning to wait until Monday to share this news, but we decided that today is a great day for exciting announcements. After numerous discussions, emails, and a lot of extra hours and dedication from SOTA UK, Adele, and myself, we are pleased to announce that Lesotho will be registered as a SOTA Association starting 1st September 2025.
7P/BB-001 Thabana Ntlenyana, will be a 10-pointer plus 3 bonus points for the season.Currently, there are 103 summits registered, and we will be adding more in the future. If any of you who are hiking can identify summit names or any additional details, please send the information to me!.
On Monday you will be able to see all the summits that’s are registered for Lesotho.
We are also busy working on Eswatini, where 26 summits have been identified and will be processed in due course. One of these 26 summits may potentially become ZS/KN-??.
Regarding Botswana and Mozambique, SOTA UK has informed us: “The mapping does not extend far into Botswana, so it is unlikely to be useful. Additionally, only one summit in Mozambique is covered, so we should leave that for now.”
