The Gambia, C5. Arnaud, F4AGG and Luc, F5RAV will be active as C5D (RTTY, PSK and digital) and C5C (SSB and CW) from the Gambia between 24/25 April and 8 May. Activity is also being planned to take place from the Bijol Islands (AF-060) sometime during their stay. When on the island, they will use C5B, with activity via satellite RS-44. Mozambique, C9. The Czech DXpedition Group (OK1BOA, OK1CRM, OK1FCJ, OK1GK, OK2ZA, OK2ZC, OK2ZI and OK6DJ) will be active as C8K from Mozambique between 10 and 19 November. They will operate SSB, CW, RTTY and other digital with several stations on 160 to 6 metres and via the QO-100 satellite. Subject to Internet availability, they will use Club Log’s Live Stream. Antarctica, UA_ant. Yuri, UA1CCI is now active as RI1ANY from Novolazarevskaya Station, Antarctica (WWL JB59VF). He operates SSB and digital via QO-100 and on the HF bands. “He does not speak fluent English, nor he has pileup experience, so please be patient”, R3LO says. Yuri will be stationed at Novolazarevskaya for one year at least. QSL via LoTW.
Timor Leste, 4W. Darren, VK4MAP has been active holiday style as 4W6DA from Timor Leste (OC-148) for the past few days. He also expects to be active as 4W6DA/p from Atauro Island (OC-232). He operates SSB and prefers the 10 m band. QSL direct to VK4MAP.
Ogasawara, JD1/O. Once again Harry, JG7PSJ will be active as JD1BMH from Chichijima (AS-031), Ogasawara from 26 April to 4 May. He will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 40 to 10 metres. New Zealand, ZL. ZL100AA is the special call sign celebrating the centenary of the Auckland Amateur Radio Club (ZL1AA), which was formed alongside and as a branch to the New Zealand Association of Radio Transmitters (NART) in 1926.
Romania, YO. YP1ZMR is the special call sign for the Federatia Romana de Radioamatorism (FRR) to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day between 16 and 30 April. See qrz.com for YP1ZMR for information about the award programme.
Italy, I. Members of the Verona DX Team will be active as IQ3VO/IA5 from Isola del Giglio (EU-028) between 13 and 17 April. They will operate CW, SSB and digital on 40, 30, 20 and 17 metres and on 2 metres digital, with two stations. QSL via IQ3VO.
Austria, OE. OE26M is the special call sign for the Club Amateur Radio ORF (CARO) in cooperation with Dokumentationsarchiv Funk (Dokufunk) to participate in this year’s International Marconi Day (25 April). Look for activity on the HF bands SSB, CW and digital. QSL via OE1XRW.
HB0 – Members of the PI4RAZ Radio Club will be active as HB0/home call from Steg, Liechtenstein between 11 and 18 April. Participants are Robert, PA2RDK; Frank, PA3CNO; Bart, PA3HEA; Gert, PE0MGB and Wim, PE1PWR. They will operate mainly CW, with some SSB and digital modes, on 80 to 10 metres. Logs will be uploaded to LotW and eQSL, paper cards will be available via PE1FLO.
France, F. TM101WARD is the special call sign for the Reseau des Emetteurs Francais (REF) to celebrate World Amateur Radio Day between 14 and 20 April. WARD is observed annually on 18 April, the day when the IARU was formed in Paris 101 years ago.
England, G. A Belgian team (ON1BN, ON4AML, ON5SEL, ON6EF, ON6VJ, ON7TA, ON7VM and ON9DJ) will be active as GB9IOW from the Isle of Wight (EU-120) from 28 April to 5 May.
