Madagascar, 5R. Eric, F6ICX, is active as 5R8IC from Sainte-Marie Island, IOTA AF-090, until the end of December. He is active on the HF bands using CW, SSB and digital modes as well as the QO-100 satellite. QSL to home call.

Botswana, A2. Ben, DB2LS is active as A25LS and is here for about a week. Activity is on the HF bands using digital during his daytime and may be active using CW and SSB during his nights. QSL to home call.

Central African Republic, TL. Joao, CR7BNW, is active as TL8BNW until June 2026. Activity is on 40, 20, 15, and 10 meters using SSB and digital. QSL via LoTW.

Sierra Leone, 9L. Steve, G7BXU, is active as 9L1BXU until 10 December. He is active in his spare time on 30 to 10 meters using CW and digital. QSL to home call.

The Gambia, C5. Andre, ON7YK, is active as C5YK from Kotu until 25 January 2026. Activity is on 20 to 10 meters using SSB, RTTY, other digital modes and some CW. QSL via LoTW, eQSL, or direct only to his home call.

Senegal, 6W. Reports indicate that Michael, DO5RQ, will be active again as 6W/DO5RQ from Dakar, Senegal, between 4 and 14 December. Activity will be holiday style on 40 to 10 m using SSB only. It is suggested to watch daily between 10:00 – 18:00 UTC. He will be using a 40 m long Hy-End Fed HW with 100 w. There is a possibility of some activation of one of the POTA/WWFF Parks nearby to his QTH. Listen for QSL info.

Morocco, CN. Special event call sign CN25JIM will be active from 11 to 14 December to mark International Mountain Day, which falls on 11 December. This year also aligns with the UN’s International Year for the Preservation of Glaciers, emphasizing glacier protection and water supply. QSL via operators’ instructions.

Japan, JA. Take, JI3DST will be active as JS6RRR from Miyako Island (AS-079) between 11 December and 17 April 2026. He will operate SSB, CW and digital on 40 to 6 m. Other call signs to be used are JI3DST/6, JJ5RBH/6, JI3DST/p and JJ5RBH/p. QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log and LoTW.

Indonesia, YB. Celebrating the 67th anniversary of the Indonesian province of Nusa Tenggara Barat, special event call signs 8C67NBA, 8C67NBB, 8C67NBC, 8C67NBD, 8C67NBE, 8C67NBF, 8C67NBJ and 8C67NBK will be in use on 13 and 14 December. Electronic QSLs on https://myqsl.id/.

Lakshadweep Islands, VU7. VU7RS is the call sign for the 10-22 January DXpedition to Agatti (AS-011), Lakshadweep Islands. Operators mentioned so far include VU24DX, VU29AR, VU2RS, VU3DXA, VU3GDS, DJ5IW, DL6KVA, EY8MM, R7KW, VE7KW and YT1AD. Greece, SV. On 1 December 1913, the island of Crete was officially integrated into the Greek state after centuries of Ottoman rule. SX1913C is a special call sign that will commemorate that event between 15 to 21 December. The operators will be SV1TAO, SV7JAX, SV8RSX and SV9TNA. Electronic QSL cards will be sent by e-mail.

Belgium, ON. Commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge during World War II, members of UBA Section Bruxelles-Est (ON5UB) will be active as OR81NUTS between 13 and 31 December. The suffix of the special call sign is General Anthony C. McAuliffe’s famous single word reply in response to a surrender ultimatum.

The Netherlands, PA. The Dutch Radio Group Christmas Event will run from 10 December to 2 January with six special call signs: PD25HOLLY, PD25HOHOHO, PD25REDNOSE, PD25SANTA, PD25XMAS and PD26HNWY. More information can be found on qrz.com for PD25XMAS.

Suriname, PZ. Joe, OZ0J will be active as PZ5OZ from PZ5RA’s rental shack at Lelydorp, Suriname from 21 December to 2 January 2026.
