The Gambia, C5. Peter, PC3M; Maarten, PA3EYC; Tijmen, PA3GRM; Mariette, PA4UUS and Gert, PA2LO will be active as C5Y from the Gambia between 23 and 29 October, including participation in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest. They will operate primarily CW and SSB, with some digital as needed. QSL direct to PH3T; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log.

Solomon Islands, H4. Bernhard, DL2GAC will be active again as H44MS from Malaita Island (OC-047), Solomon Islands, between 20 September and 25 November and again between 25 January and 10 April 2026. Usually, he is active daily, with activity on 80 to 6 metres SSB and digital. QSL via home call, direct or bureau.

Ogasawara, JD1_oga-. Members of the University of Tokyo Amateur Radio Club will be active as JA1ZLO/JD1 from Hahajima between 21 and 22 September and from Chichijima
between 22 and 24 September, Ogasawara (AS-031). They will operate SSB, CW and digital on the HF bands, as well as on 144 and 430 MHz. QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log and LoTW. As for paper QSL cards, use the form on https://ja1zlo.u-tokyo.org/qslpolicy/ and apply by the end of December.

Greece, SV. The Salamis Radio Team will be active as SX8AJX from Salamina Island (EU-075) between 16 and 30 September. Plans are to operate CW, SSB and digital modes on the HF bands and via satellite. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log. Visit qrz.com for SX8AJX for more information.

Celebrating 130 years of radio and IARU’s centenary, several special call signs will be in use from 15 September to 15 October: II0IARU (Sardinia), II1IARU, II2IARU, II3IARU, II4IARU, II5IARU, II6IARU, II7IARU, II8IARU, II9IARU, IR0IARU, IR2IARU, IR3IARU, IR7IARU and IR8IARU, as well as II1RVCO, II2RBUS, II3RTRE, IR2RGAL, IR2RIMV and IR2RMAG. Russia, UA. Commemorating the 500th anniversary since Russian diplomat Dmitrij Gerasimov first proposed the idea of a sea route connecting Europe and China via the Arctic Ocean, special call sign R500SMP (Severnogo Morskogo Puti, i.e. Northern Sea Route) will be active from 10 September to 10 October. Also, active will be seven memorial stations from the regions along whose coasts Gerasimov had imagined it would be possible to reach Asia: R500O (Arkhangelsk Oblast), R500M (Murmansk Oblast), R500X (Komi Republic), R500K (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), R500Z (Kamchatka Krai), R500F (Sakhalin Oblast), R500L (Primorsky Krai). Gerasimov’s geographical hypothesis was recorded by the Italian humanist Paolo Giovio in 1525. Aland Islands, OH0. Look for Udo, OH0/DL2AQI and Torsten, OH0/DL4APJ to be active holiday style from the Aland Islands (EU-002, Grid KP00AD) between 15 and 26 September. They will operate CW, SSB and various digital modes on 80 to 10 metres, as well as on 144, 430 and 1 200 MHz and via the QO-100 satellite. Denmark, OZ – Frank, DL2SWW as 5Q5W and Gaby, DF9TM as OV9M will participate in the SSB leg of the Scandinavian Activity Contest from Vendsyssel-Thy (EU-171). Look for activity to start on 18 September. QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log.

Scotland, GM. Members of the Inverness and District Amateur Radio Society will be active as GS0RIV from the island of North Uist (EU-010) between 21 and 26 September. They will operate SSB, CW and digital. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, Club Log, eQSL and QRZ Logbook; paper QSLs will not be available.

Ireland, EI. Team EJ1K (namely EI0CZ, EI9FBB, EI9FVB, ON4TV, ON8JW, and OP8L) will be active from Great Blasket Island (EU-007) between 26 and 28 September. QSL via M0OXO’s OQRS; QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log, LoTW and QRZ Logbook.

Trinidad and Tobago, 9Y. Commemorating the 49th anniversary of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago, members of the DXHams Amateur Radio Group, 9Y4Y will be active as 9Y49R between 24 and 28 September. QSL via LoTW; QSOs will also be uploaded to Club Log.

St Kitts, V4. Tom, K0YA and his wife Toni, W5RCX will be active holiday style as V4/K0YA operating CW, SSB and digital and V4/W5RCX on digital from St Kitts (NA-104) between 16 and 28 September. They will be active primarily during their morning and evening hours. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log.

Montserrat, VP2M. – Franco, J88BTI will be active as VP2MAA from Montserrat (NA-103) between 11 and 17 September. The primary objective of this trip is to finalise the arrangements for his relocation, as he expects to depart Saint Vincent in late September to take up a position in Montserrat for approximately a year. British Virgin Islands, VP2V. A group of young operators will be active from Tortola, British Virgin Islands (NA-023) between 23 and 28 October. They will participate in the CQ WW DX SSB Contest as VP2VRX QSL via LoTW, eQSL, Club Log’s OQRS, or via N4XTT, direct and bureau). Outside the contest, look for VP2V/KC1KUG, VP2V/N4XTT, VP2V/W3MLJ, and VP2V/W9RFT to operate SSB, CW, and digital on 160 to 6 metres, excluding WARC.
