Tanzania, 5H. Maurizio, IK2GZU will be active again as 5H3MB from Tanzania from 18 October to 18 November, while doing volunteer work at a local school. Democratic Republic of Congo, 9Q. The DXpedition to the Democratic Republic of Congo 9T0MD is still confirmed to take place from 30 September to 11 October. The Mediterranean DX Club is conducting a survey to find out on which bands and modes the DRC is most needed, so that they can plan their operations accordingly www.mdxc.support/9t0md/survey/.
Seychelles, S7. Kasimir, DL2SBY will be active again as S79/DL2SBY from Mahe (AF-024), Seychelles between 11 and 21 September. He will operate CW, SSB and digital on the HF bands with verticals and an inverted vee and on 6 metres with a 5-element yagi. QSL via LoTW, Club Log’s OQRS, or direct to home call.
Cape Verde, D4. Harald, DF2WO is active again as D44TWO from Praia, Santiago Island (AF-005) until mid-September. He operates CW, SSB and digital on various bands and via QO-100. See qrz.com for more information. QSL via M0OXO’s OQRS.
Vanuatu, YJ. Barry, KD6XU plans to be active as YJ0BP from Efate (OC-035), Vanuatu, starting after 9 September and running to early October. Operating from a beach house on the southern side of the island, he will also conduct portable operations from a couple of POTA sites. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, Club Log and QRZ; paper cards will not be available.
East Kiribati, T32. Ken, KH6QJ has had to cancel the first two weeks of his T32AZ. Operation from (Christmas Island, OC-024), East Kiribati. He still plans to be active early next month for the SSB leg of the Oceania DX Contest (3 and 4 October).
American Samoa, KH8. Yuris, YL2GM and Eugene, EA5EL will be active as KH8WW from Aunu’u Island (OC-045), American Samoa between 10 and 24 September. Russia, RI1F. The RI1FJZ team assembled in Murmansk, but the departure of the “Apostol Andrey” for Alexandra Land – originally scheduled for 3 September – is expected to be delayed until 7 September at the earliest due to an incoming storm.
Greece, SV. Dirk, ON5CT will be active as J48S from Samos Island (EU-049) from 11 September to 10 October. He will operate SSB, RTTY, digital and some CW on 80 to 10 metres. He plans to participate in the CQ WW DX RTTY Contest (26 and 27 September). QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW, Club Log and eQSL; paper QSLs will not be provided.
Cyprus, 5B. Members of the Bavarian Contest Club will be active as 5B/DD1MAT, 5B/DJ5MO, 5B/DL7AT and 5B/DM6DX from Cyprus between 10 and 16 September. They will operate CW, SSB and RTTY on 160 to 10 metres and will participate in the WAE DX SSB Contest (12 and 13 September) as PC3R (QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log).
France, F. The Radio Club Vendeen (F6KUF) will be active as TM4GGR at various times between 7 September and 9 October. The special call sign’s suffix stands for Golden Globe Race, the single-handed, round-the-world sailing race without assistance that will start from Les Sables-d’Olonne, France on 6 September. USA, W. Organized by the Citrus Belt ARC for the 25th year in a row, the annual Route 66 On The Air special event celebrates the historic US Highway 66, officially established 100 years ago. Twenty-three amateur radio stations using 1×1 call signs (W6A – W6W) will be active from cities and communities along the “Mother Road” between 12 and 20 September.
