Namibia, V5. Members of the RadioActive Group Namibia will be active as V55LH from the Diaz Point Lighthouse during the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend (15 and 16 August). They will operate SSB, CW and digital on 80 to 10 metres with two stations. This will be the first operation ever from this historic lighthouse. QSL via LoTW or via the bureau to DL3DXX; QSOs will be uploaded to Club Log.
South Sudan, Z8. Alex, HB9FND is active as Z81Q from Juba, South Sudan. His station is currently under construction; when fully operational, he plans to be active on 80 to 10 metres. CW is his preferred mode, but SSB will also be available, with plans to activate QO-100 soon. QSL via Club Log’s OQRS.
Indonesia, YB. Celebrating the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia’s proclamation of independence (17 August 1945), HQ station 8A81RI and 34 special event stations will be active between 10 and 20 August from various Indonesian provinces. Moldova, ER. ER35RM is the official special event station celebrating the 35th anniversary of the Republic of Moldova’s independence (27 August 1991). Look for activity on multiple bands and modes between 1 and 31 August. QSL via operator’s instructions
Russia, UA. Team RI0FA (namely Dmitry RA2FA, Yuri RM0F, and Alexander RW3RN) will be active from Iturup Island (AS-025) between 12 and 16 August. They plan to operate CW, SSB and digital modes with two stations on 40 to 12 metres (80 m if conditions permit). QSL via RW3RN; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log. Upon returning to Sakhalin (AS-018), they plan to operate from several districts under the RDA programme until 21 August.
Italy, I. IU3EDK (SSB), IZ3GOM (CW), and IZ3KUZ (SSB) will be active as IR3LH from Faro Rocchetta (Venezia Lido) during the International Lighthouse/Lightship Weekend. QSL via IU3EDK.
Portugal, CT. Special call sign CR5VP will be in use between 5 and 16 August during the “Volta a Portugal em Bicicleta”, Portugal’s most prestigious multi-stage road cycling race. See https://hamaward.cloud/awards for the certificates; QSL cards will not be issued.
France, F. For the eleventh year in a row, a German team (DF1DJ, DJ5KX, DJ8EI, DK5OPA, DL1DCT, DL5KA and DL8KR) will be active as TM0BSM from the lighthouse at Berck-sur-Mer between 13 and 17 August. QSL via LoTW only.
Market Reef, OJ0. Henri, OH3JR and Anne, OH2YL will be active as OJ0JR and OJ0YL, respectively, from Market Reef (EU-053) on 15-22 August. They will operate CW, SSB and digital on 80-10 metres. QSL OJ0JR via OH3JR, QSL OJ0YL via OH2YL; QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW and Club Log, whose OQRS will open when the operation finishes. St Lucia, J6. Mike, N4XTT will be active as J68TT from St Lucia (NA-108) between 15 and 21 August. He will be QRV on 40-10 metres (possibly 80m), with plans to operate from many POTA sites alongside J69Z. QSL via LoTW, Club Log’s OQRS, or direct to N4XTT.
St Kitts, V4 – Once again John, W5JON will be active as V47JA from St Kitts (NA-104) between 24 and 31 August. He will operate SSB and digital on various bands. QSL via LoTW, or direct only to W5JON.
USA, W. Members of the Old Barney Amateur Radio Club will be active as N2OB from “Old Barney”, the Barnegat Lighthouse on Long Beach Island (NA-111) on 15 August (13:00 to 21:00 UTC). Main activity on 20 meters SSB. QSL via N2OO (OQRS on https://www.oqrs.net/n2oo/).
