Andaman Islands, VU4. Sarath, VU2RS will be active as VU4R from Port Blair (AS-001), Andaman Islands between 22 and 27 July. He will operate mainly SSB on 40 to 10 metres and will participate in the IOTA Contest. This will be a preparatory trip and operation in anticipation of the main event, which will take place between 17 and 30 December alongside the 49th SEANET Convention. The special call sign’s suffix stands for Pledge and Commitment, a national initiative that brings together UAE citizens and residents to express their loyalty to the nation, allegiance to its leadership and pride in the UAE’s development journey and its humanitarian values.

Germany, DL. DQ40CNP is a special call sign to be in use between 12 June and 11 July to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant disaster (26 April 1986). This activation also shines a light on a lesser-known piece of history: the GDR (East Germany) radio amateurs who discreetly used their stations to share information and contribute to public health protection during the crisis.
