Germany, DL. Celebrating a half-century of German research in Antarctica, special call signs DA0ANT, DM50ANT and DP50ANT will be active from 15 February to 30 April. In addition, active between 1 and 30 April will also be DM50GFS (for the 50th anniversary of the Georg Forster Station, established by the GDR in 1976 and decommissioned in 1993), as well as DP200GVN (for the bicentenary of the birth of Georg von Neumayer, after whom three German Antarctic research stations have been named). Macao, XX9. A large multi-national team (EA1CJ, EA1SA, EA5BCQ, EA5KA, EA5KM, EA7KE, EA7R, EA7X, F2JD, F8ATS, F8GGV, IK5RUN, IN3ZNR and JH4RHF) will be active as XX9W from Macao (grid locator OL62sd) between 19 and 31 March. Serbia, YU. To commemorate the 170th anniversary of Nikola Tesla’s birth, members of the Amateur Radio Union of Serbia (YU0SRS) will be active as YT170TESLA from 31 January until the end of the year. QSL via LoTW; paper QSL cards will not be available.
Sardinia, IS0. Members of ARI Porto Torres (IQ0AK) and Radio Club Coros (IQ0AAI) will be active on the HF bands and via QO-100 as IR0SAR between 11 and 18 February as part of the Sardinian Carnival events. Denmark, OZ. In March 1926, the Danish Ministry of Public Works officially Legalized private radio transmissions. By the end of that year, over 40 amateur radio licences were granted. Celebrating the centenary of the formal birth of regulated amateur radio in Denmark, special call sign OZ100OZ will be activated between 1 and 8 March. USA, W. W7P is the call sign for the Northern Arizona DX Association to conduct a 10-year special event countdown to the 100th anniversary of the discovery of Pluto by Clyde Tombaugh at Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff, Arizona on 18 February 1930. The inaugural event was held in 2021; this year’s Pluto Anniversary Countdown will run between 14 and 22 February. USA, W. Team N4T will be active from Garden Key, Dry Tortuga’s National Park (NA-079) between 19 and 25 February.
